CELEBES ADVANCE HEALTH JOURNAL (CAHJ) WRITERS' GUIDE

Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts submitted for publication to  the CAHJ  must be submitted through the journal's online system. To submit a manuscript, you can  register  or  log in directly. If you experience technical difficulties, please contact us via email at  editor@celebeshealthjournal.com  or through  the journal's contact page .

Main Basics

1. Originality : The manuscript submitted by the author is an original work (free from deviations from research and publication ethics) and is not being submitted to another journal publisher.
2. Quality : Manuscripts containing numerous errors (grammar, citations, review/publication ethics) will be returned to the author for revision or rejection. This review process may involve editorial review or peer review.
3. Structure : The arrangement of the substance refers to the established structure of the contents of the manuscript

Ethics

Research Ethics

Manuscripts submitted to CAHJ are the results of studies whose implementation follows national and/or international health research ethics rules and have received research ethics approval (ethical clearance) from the Health Research Ethics Commission (KEPK) of Indonesian/foreign institutions, both studies involving humans or animals as research subjects.

Publication Ethics

CAHJ adopts the principles of publication ethics published by:

• Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

• World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)

• International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)

These principles are used as a basis for rules and a basis for deciding ethical matters.

Types of Manuscripts Accepted

Permata Public Health Journal accepts several types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Articles : Empirical studies with novel findings

2. Review Articles : Comprehensive literature analysis

3. Case Reports : Interesting and informative case reports

4. Brief Communications : Short communications related to current public health issues

Structure of Manuscript Contents

The primary language used in CAHJ articles is  Indonesian , except for article titles, abstracts, and terms in languages ​​other than Indonesian or regional languages. Foreign terms are written in italics.

The structure of the manuscript content uses the  IMRaD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion)  as the basis for the full text layout.

General Manuscript Format

• Paper size : A4 (210 x 297 mm)

• Format : One column

• Font : Times New Roman, size 11-12 pt

• Spacing : 1.5 spaces

• Margin : Top 2.54 cm; Bottom 2.54 cm; Left 2.54 cm; Right 2.54 cm

• Manuscript length : Maximum 13-15 pages (including tables, figures, and bibliography)

• Word count : Around 3,000-3500 words

Script Components

1. Title, Abstract, and Keywords

Title

• Consisting of two languages:  Indonesian  and  English

• Describe the results and study model used (for example: 'relationship' for observational studies, 'effect' for experimental studies, 'factor' for analytical studies)

• Avoid using abbreviations

• Consists of  12-15 words  (excluding conjunctions)

• The words in the title should be consistent with the abstract and keywords to make it easier for search engines.

Abstract

• Indonesian Abstract : Maximum 250 words

• English Abstract : Translation of the Indonesian abstract

• The abstract structure  consists of:

  • Background

  • Study method

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion and suggestions

Keywords

• English keywords : Referring to Medical Subject Headings ( MeSH )

• Indonesian keywords : Translation of English keywords

• Quantity:  3-5 keywords

• Keywords help with indexing and searching of articles.

2. Authors, Affiliates, and Electronic Posts

• Author order : Based on contribution (first author, second author, and so on),  not alphabetical system

• Corresponding author : Given an asterisk (*)

• Email : Each author includes his/her email address.

• Affiliation format : Work unit, institution, institution city, and country

• Example:

  • Name : Ade Nurkhotimah*

  • Affiliation : Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Hasanuddin, Makassar, Indonesia

  • Email: adenurkhotimah098@gmail.com

3. Introduction

The introduction consists of but is not limited to:

• Introduction and problem formulation

• Current status of the issue

• What things have been researched and what are the results?

• Research gap

• Research objectives (stated at the end of the introduction)

Length : Approximately 1-1.5 pages (maximum 20% of total words)

4. Methodology

The methodology details the subsections:

• Types of research

• Research design

• Population and sample

• Sampling techniques

• Data collection

• Data management

• Data analysis

• Interpretation

Note : Research that uses tools and materials needs to write down the specifications.

5. Results

• Starting with an explanation of the implementation of the study

• The results of the study can be visualized in the form of  tables, graphs or images.

• After the presentation of the visualization, there is a narrative that explains the findings.

• Number of tables and figures : Maximum 6 (total)

• Numbering : Tables and figures are numbered sequentially.

• Table title : Placed at the top

• Image/graphic title : Placed at the bottom

Table Format :

• Use open tables (horizontal lines only)

• Table position: center

• Font: Times New Roman 10 pt

• Spacing: 1 space in the table

6. Discussion

• Explain the scientific meaning of the findings compared to the results of existing studies or theories.

• Make  a comparison or comparison  with similar research

• If differences are found, explain the cause supported by theory or references.

• Conjectures (synthesis) can be made based on related theories or findings.

• Discuss the limitations of the study

Length : The discussion is the most important part of the script.

7. Conclusion and Suggestions

• Conclusion : Must refer to the research objectives and answer them explicitly.

• Suggestions : Provide suggestions for further research based on the study results and limitations encountered.

8. Recommendations

Explain in detail:

• Finding limitations that influence the study results

• Recommendations that are in accordance with the shortcomings or weaknesses of the study

• Its influence on the results of the study

Library Sources

Reference Management

• Use a reference manager :  Mendeley  or  Zotero  to manage library sources (citations and bibliography)

• Ensure library metadata is complete:

  • Author's name

  • Publisher

  • Publication Year

  • Volume and issue number (if journal)

  • Published edition (if book)

  • Publication website address

  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) terbitan

Surrounding Style

• Citation style :  APA 7th edition style

• By using the reference manager, there should be no discrepancies between the references to the library sources and the bibliography.

Number of References

• Minimum : 15-20 references

• Composition : Minimum  70% from journal articles  (last 5 years), 30% from other sources (books, theses, dissertations, reports, regulations)

• Priority : Primary references such as journals, proceedings, theses, or dissertations

Citation Format

• In-text citations : Using the author-date system

  • Example: (Smith, 2020) or Smith (2020) states that...

  • Two authors: (Smith & Jones, 2020)

  • Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2020)

Author Contribution

Description of the contributions made by each author to the preparation of the manuscript. PPHJ uses the list set out in  the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) :

Contributions made by people other than the authors (such as those who helped with the review process) may be acknowledged in the 'acknowledgements' section. Please ensure that those named have agreed to their inclusion.

Plagiarism Policy

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves the use or close imitation of another author's language and thoughts and its representation as one's own original work.

Plagiarism Detection

• All submitted manuscripts will be checked using  plagiarism detection software  (such as Turnitin or iThenticate)

•  Acceptable similarity index :

  • ≤ 30% : Accepted (note: quote must be correct)

  • 31-40% : Revision and citation improvement required

  • > 40% : Rejected

Action

• Manuscripts with a high level of plagiarism will be returned to the author for correction or rejected outright.

• Authors must provide proper citations for all text taken from other sources.

• Paraphrasing should be done correctly, not just replacing a few words.

Sharing Study Data

The PPHJ Journal supports the movement to share research data, ensuring it is open and stored in repositories accessible to other researchers. Data can be stored in repositories such as  Zenodo  or  Figshare . The data is assigned a DOI and linked to the article.

Review Process

Peer Review Process

• All submitted manuscripts will undergo  double-blind peer review.

• A minimum of  2 reviewers  will review each manuscript.

• Review duration: Approximately  2-4 weeks

• Editorial decision:

  • Accepted : Article can be published

  • Minor Revision : Minor improvements are required

  • Major Revision : Significant improvements are required

  • Rejected : Article does not meet journal standards

Review Time

• Initial notification: Within 1-2 weeks of submission

• Full review: 2-4 weeks

• Revision: The author is given a maximum of 2 weeks to make revisions.

Open Access Policy

PERMATA Public Health Journal is committed to providing full open access to all published articles. All content is freely available without subscription fees.

License

Published articles are licensed under  the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) , which allows:

• Sharing — copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format

• Adaptation — remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for any purpose, even commercial

Copyright

• Authors retain copyright to their works

• By publishing in PPHJ, the author grants the journal first publication rights.

Publication Fee (Article Processing Charge - APC)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

• Payment  is ONLY  made after the article  is accepted  and the author receives  an official invoice  from the journal manager.

• DO NOT  make payment before receiving official notification of receipt of article and invoice.

WARNING : Beware of predatory journals that ask for payment before the review process or before the article is accepted.

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you have checked the following:

•  The manuscript has never been published and is not being submitted to another journal.

•  Manuscript files in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)

•  The manuscript follows the IMRaD structure.

•  Title in Indonesian and English (12-15 words)

•  Abstract in Indonesian and English (maximum 250 words)

•  Keywords 3-5 words (referring to MeSH)

•  Full author identity (name, affiliation, email)

•  Corresponding authors are marked with the symbol (*)

•  Ethical clearance attached (if required)

•  References of at least 15-20 sources (70% journals from the last 5 years)

•  References use APA 7th edition format

•  Using a reference manager (Mendeley/Zotero)

•  The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism (similarity ≤ 20%)

•  Maximum 6 tables and figures (total)

•  Table title above, image title below

•  The author's contribution is clearly stated

•  The manuscript has been checked for grammar and spelling.

•  All URLs in the reference are accessible

•  A conflict of interest statement is included.

•  Sources of research funding are stated (if any)
